Monday, was anything but normal for the Atchison County Courthouse. When Freshmen from Rock Port, Tarkio and Fairfax joined in the daily activities of the Atchison County courthouse.
County Government Day is put together as a joint effort between the Local American Legion Posts, county officials and local law enforcement agencies.
The students were split into groups and given the opportunity to see the day-to-day runnings of individual offices of Atchison County government.

We are looking forward to 2012 being a pivotal year for the golf course. Your new 2012 RP Golf and CC board has a renewed focus on the future of our course, which as you know, has an uncertain future. Since 1928, the golf course has been a vital piece of the community and we intend to make sure it continues to be. With changing times, we must also adapt. Our mission is simple, provide an attractive golf course, increase play and revive membership.

The Downtowner in Rock Port was the place to be on Saturday, January 14, 2012 it was packed full of chili makers and tasters. There were 39 entries for the three category Chili Cook-off Contest. In the Original division Jeff Umbarger took First Place followed by John Ingram in Second Place. In the Spicy division taking top honors was Cheryl Volker with a close second by Kenny McAdams. Coming in First in the Unusual division was Cathy Herron followed by Holly Gray in Second.
